Weekly Perspective Shifting, Resources, & Opportunities for Rebel Entrepreneurs & World Changers

Hey Reader,

Welcome to The Vision Underground -

My semi monthly newsletter community designed for Rebel Entrepreneurs and World Changers like you!

I know it's been a bit, and the last email may have sounded a bit pessimistic but I wanted to be real with you.

Admittedly, the world feels heavy sometimes and staying positive and happy all the time isn’t realistic. I wanted to give you permission to have a bad day or week too.

Here’s some additional context if you’re interested— if not just skip to the next section for updates.

I've long spoken about the dangers of social media, how it gets in our heads thanks to the almighty algorithm, but as I launched the Wellness Lab I made a commitment to ensure that I was actually promoting it to my network and on social accounts. This meant I was on social media daily posting and messaging people.

Like me, many of my closest and biggest hearted friends and family are all struggling right now. World events, politics, and human rights advocacy is part of what I do and there for its also who I follow. And many advocates around me are talking about all of the issues - from the micro to the macro.

Despite my best efforts, my feeds, timelines, and pages were filled with the shock, dismay, and horror of what was happening in the world.

Add all of that to the day to day, the exciting new things, the pressures to succeed and provide for my family, and being a highly sensitive neurodivergent person - Well, like it is for many of you - it's just been a-lot.

At the beginning of February we had a wonderful conversation in the RDL about The Archetypes of Resistance. We talked about how we can't be all the things, and how some of us who are a bit more sensitive or empathetic may want to be at the protests or speaking out online, but that maybe our roles look different.

So after that week where I couldn’t activate my brain enough to really write, I took my own advice and I stepped back to consider what my role as an advocate looks like and I realized I'm already doing it!

  1. I get the honor of working daily with amazing clients to help them learn how to advocate for themselves with others, or with themselves (because we all know how that voice can be sometimes.)
  2. Many of those clients work with clients of their own and make the world a better place through their own work. (And if it’s not their career I know that them being happier is still going to make the world a better place.)
  3. I write! I catalogue my feelings, what I see, my opinions on how things can be better, and I write books and articles to help people.
  4. I'm still making an effort to check the actual news once a day - so that I can stay in the know, and that’s important for my family and community. My dad made it clear one time that I couldn't be unaware just because I was overwhelmed, and I hope he is proud that I am finding a way to navigate this dystopian apprentice nightmare in a way that works for me.
  5. I call congress at least once a week if not daily (depending on what I see in the news.) I used to take a back seat on what was going on - Its not that I didn't care, I just gave our representatives the benefit of the doubt that they wanted good things for us all. Now I have realized what a mistake it is that a country built on the ability for us to be active participants in our government have all decided to abdicate that responsiblity to people who don't even know us. So, for the sake of my kids, my family, my friends, and my own heart and ego, I will call and let my voice be heard.

I hope this gives some context to why I wanted to hide under a rock for a week or so and why I am coming back now with renewed purpose, lots of love, and a hopeful light.

If you’re feeling the need to find a rock of your own, reach out (so we can check on you if we don't hear from you after a while.) And then feel free to hide, be angry, feel through it.

When you’re feeling better we can work together to find a way to take action that you feel good about.

Lastly, the people who are out there raising their voices need support too, so if you can't be the one screaming in protest, and you need to do a different type of work in support of the protestors, the advocates, the rebels, then that is just as valid and important!

-Steph

Other Highlights

Podcast Appearance:

I recently had an opportunity to appear on a new podcast by Igor Rafolovich Called Grow And Connect (You can watch that here.) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=polbbIfrL-E

One of the things I appreciated about Igor is that while he and I had only met briefly - he did his homework, looked at my socials and my website and came up with some great questions which he sent to me ahead of time to help me prepare. If you're interested in appearing on his podcast you can reach out to him via email: igor@contentconnect.ai

New Tools and New Ways to Connect:

I also wanted to share a new tool that I found that will help me support you and your business with more ease for both of us.

It's called Luma - and I recorded a special video just for you to learn more about it and why I'm using it.

You can join our calendars here:

Cowork Connection is a place for us to host our public co-working events so that people can join and get a taste of our communities! I have found such amazing opportunities to connect with others through co-working. They aren't networking calls - they're calls where we work, so while we don't pitch or listen to 30 second commercials, we do sometimes talk about work and every once in a while something someone says or does will peak other people's interest and then you have a connection. It's easy, it serves multiple purposes at once, and the connections are so much more genuine.

Sharing is Caring - The Rebel Dream Lab Calendar - This is the promotion of events that are open to the public. These aren't community events, but our free and paid events that we're promoting for others to come to. (Think free to low cost, high value events.) Each of us can cross promote everyone's events. To see how it works, watch the video and go check out our public calendars.

If you are in heartbeat (in the rebel dream lab) You'll still have exclusive coaching events that will not be open to the public. There are some changes coming to the RDL membership, but I think all of us will agree they'll be a great opportunity for us to work more closely together for what you need and want. (don't freak out, if you're already in the RDL, nothing is changing with your current membership!)

The Wellness Lab is off to a great start, we're working on hydration and learning all about what our body needs an wants. If you haven't logged in yet, Check Heartbeat and look for the tab "Wellness Warriors & Wellness Chat"

If you're interested in Human Design, I'm hosting an upcoming event called "Beyond the Mask: Human Design for NeuroDiverse Women in the Transformation Industry" - you can get more info through this link here: https://community.perspectiveshifters.com/events/BDB118

One last thing, If you follow me on social media - I know I’ve said this before, but I’m leaving 99% of the platforms I’m on. You will still see my profile - and I’ll still be available on messenger - but I won’t be on Facebook or LinkedIn going forward unless it’s to update my profile or on LI once a week check messages I receive a heads up about in my email inbox.

I’ve found it hard to stay away from these platforms because so many of my connections are active there, and because I have a business, but with missinglttr and substack I can be in spaces that are more aligned with me and still keep those other profiles from appearing like I’m out of business.

I am clearing out and burning down the things that don’t work for me once and for all.

It’s what I’m calling “Fire Horse 40” (because I turned 40 in the year of the fire horse.

I hope you have a great rest of your week and I will pop back into your inbox on Friday with a tidbit about Women’s Empowerment Month.

Sending love! 💕
