Hey Reader,
TLDR: Steph shares her journey of connecting five diverse career paths to help neurodivergent leaders reclaim their authority and lead with clarity.
I’ve spent the last 10 years walking paths that I thought would lead to success.
When I decided to start my learning journey and eventually get my degrees and certifications, I considered how I might make a positive impact on the world. I saw 5 distinct pathways - and opted to ensure my educational experience would help me in all of these things.
- Path 1: Corporate Leadership
- Path 2: Write a book
- Path 3: Work with kids
- Path 4: Consult & Coach corporations & Leaders
- Path 5: Government & Politics
I thought these were five separate paths, but then I walked them. Now I can see the common thread in how I contribute, no matter which path I’m on.
For a long time, I thought each path would lead me to success if I just kept walking—if I just kept pushing. But I was trying to get somewhere by following routes that weren’t really mine, or worse... trying to hack down forests and build bridges for a path I was never meant to go down.
Why destroy the forest, when you can float in harmony?
At the beginning of 2026, I chose “Float the River Styx” as my theme for the year. By March, it felt like I was being burned by challenge after challenge, and I wanted off the boat. I changed my theme to “There Is Nothing to Fix in 2026.”
In April, I stopped trying to fix or control everything. I asked the higher powers to show me the way forward because I was ready to throw in the towel. The next day, I joined a congressional primary campaign and have since I’ve joined another.
But isn't surrendering how you float?
A month ago, I realized I am still floating the River Styx. I’d asked to float, not to sail or paddle. For me, floating meant loosening my grip on how I thought the journey had to go—not giving up, but surrendering the need to control every turn. When I stopped trying to force the route, I began to see where the current was taking me.
Lately, I’ve been wondering whether I’m nearing the end of these pathways—or just beginning to understand how they connect. I thought it might be easier to focus on one path (or river) when introducing myself and explaining what I do. But I’ve realized that the paths themselves aren’t the point. It’s understanding how they connect that helps us see the contribution we make.
The Throughline
Politics became one more place where I saw the same throughline: I help people find clarity, trust their perspective, and make change. More than anything, I want to help women reclaim their authority when life or work feels overwhelming, confusing, or uncertain.
Reclaiming your authority isn’t just about insight or self-understanding. It’s about moving forward based on what actually matters to you—not what you’ve been told should matter. I help my clients get shit done by finding clarity about where they stand, what they really want, and how they want to get there. We don’t follow a system I designed; we listen to their instincts, experience, and wisdom. And that's for interns, new leaders, business owners and congressional candidates.
Reclaim your Authority
This summer, I created the Authority Reclamation program, but I still haven’t launched it. I’d been waiting for the right time. Today, I felt an impulse to take action, so I’m going with it. As election night approaches and my political work gets a little lighter, this feels like the right time. Somewhere out there, someone is ready for this—and I have a feeling you may know who I’m looking for.
How you can help:
I’m looking for a neurodivergent leader who has been doing meaningful work but is burned out from trying to survive inside systems that keep telling her she’s the problem. A small part of her may even believe that lie...
But she’s done. Done masking, second-guessing, and making herself “palatable” to everyone else. She may feel lost, overwhelmed, or distracted in her business or other endeavors, but her fight response is online.
She knows there has to be a better way—and she’s ready to challenge what isn’t working, let go of one-size-fits-all systems, and reclaim her authority.
If someone came to mind, would you introduce us by email? We can talk about what she needs and whether working together makes sense.
And if you see yourself in this, just reply to this email with the word "Float" and we’ll find a time to connect.
Sometimes the most useful next step is personal clarity; sometimes it’s practical business direction; sometimes it’s a mix. We won’t know what might be useful until we talk.
Focusing on Advocacy through connection and coming to you with Love,
Steph
